State Flag

 

The design consists of the pelican group from the state seal, in white and gold, and a white ribbon bearing the state motto, "Union, Justice, and Confidence", on a field of a solid blue. Flag adopted 1912.

State Slogan

 

Louisiana is the state where I ran my first race, a 5k in the early 1990's.  Cotton sweatpants and cotton everything else in lord knows what shoes...... my running gear has come a long way since then.

 

Shortly after running my first half marathon in Florida in 2001, I decided to run the Mardi Gras half marathon about a month later.  My reasoning is that I was already trained so may as well run another event.
